Booking an appointment

To make an appointment, please contact Associate Professor Stafford to discuss your needs and expectations.

Standard appointments are 50 to 60 minutes in duration. In some cases, a session may be extended by prior arrangement. The number and frequency of appointments varies depending on individual needs.

You do not need a referral from a doctor to see Associate Professor Stafford - you may self refer.

Fees and rebates

This is private billing practice and all consultations with Associate Professor Stafford will incur a gap fee. The fee for a standard consultation is $280.

You may be eligible for a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) under the Medicare Better Access initiative. This will allow you to access a rebate of $141.85 per session for up to 10 sessions per year. Please discuss your eligibility for a MHCP with your GP or psychiatrist.

If you do not have a MHCP, you may be able to claim a rebate from your private health insurance fund. Please confirm this directly with your health fund.

Cancellations

If, for any reason you need to cancel or postpone your appointment, please provide at least 24 hours notice, otherwise you will be charged a 100% cancellation fee.

Confidentiality

Confidentiality is a cornerstone of psychological care. Information pertaining to your therapy is confidential, aside from certain exceptions that will be outlined in an Information and Consent Form prior to commencing therapy.

Please note that Associate Professor Stafford is unable to provide a crisis service.
